1. Solo

Spending time walking down the same old line I have drawn without a sign of slowing down

There are days I get a glimpse of what’s mine but then I fall behind my pride

Maybe I’m wrong but maybe I’m right, I don’t know about this solo of mine

Try if I may or try if I might, the words just don’t come out right in this solo of mine

In the light of day and dark of night a hideaway protects my sight from dreaming things too far away

But in the dark we still see shadows of light casting visions in our sight of brighter days

Well maybe I’m wrong but maybe I’m right, I don’t know about this solo of mine

Try if I may or try if I might the words just don’t come out right in this solo of mine

2. Long Way To Go

After all these moments in time, after all the innocence

After all the climbing up and down, after all the changes

There has to be a long way to go, there has to be a long way to go

There has to be a long way to go on your own

Rearrange the pages of your life, rearrange your spaces

Rearrange the longings of your heart, rearrange the changes

There has to be a long way to go, there has to be a long way to go

There has to be a long way to go on your own, on your own

There will be some confusion but love is not illusion

It won’t be easy, won’t be safe, but courage comes to those who wait

There has to be a long way to go, there has to be a long way to go

There has to be a long way to go on your own, on your own, on your own

3. If I Didn’t Have You

No sky of blue, no place to run home to.  I wouldn’t know what to do if I didn’t have you

No beauty or miracles, no comfort from embraces, no happy, laughing faces if I didn’t have you

If I didn’t have you, if I didn’t have you – then nothing would be true if I didn’t have you

No joy, no pain, no chorus or refrain.  Just one big empty lane if I didn’t have you

No fear, no faith, seasons, love or hate.  No heaven’s pearly gates if I didn’t have you

If I didn’t have you, if I didn’t have you – then nothing would be true if I didn’t have you

If I didn’t have you, if I didn’t have you – then nothing would be true if I didn’t have you

‘Cause there’d be nothing left to hold on to, no olive branch to cling to

No open door to walk through, no heroes here to rescue, no friends around to talk to

No rusty horn to blow through, and no people left to sing to if I didn’t have you, if I didn’t have you

4. Prerequisite

The thing with circles, there always round…they don’t know their up from down

So it is sometimes we lose our ground, but by turning we come round

If you want to be a circle you’ve got to live with ups and downs

Because turning’s a prerequisite and the moving makes you round

We dream of islands in the sun, we always dream of what’s to come

But when we see what life has done…that a new world has begun

So if you want to build an island you’ve got to dig for lots of sand

Because digging’s a prerequisite for building dreams by hand

To be faithful to a call means you have to hear one at all

To be listening and to recall that you have the courage to fall

So if you want to be faithful you’ve got to learn to let things go

Because giving’s a prerequisite and it’s how our faith is shown

5. Pushed

I used to be a girl on a swing just waiting for the push, I used to be fearless of the unknown

Used to run and play, used to have secrets, I used to dream of tomorrow and when it came what would I be?

What would’ve happened if I’d never been pushed?  Would I have just stayed there?

And still be running around chasing my own dreams

I can’t imagine never being pushed and just doing my own thing

‘Cause what good is life without a little pain?

Well here we are, we’re older now and standing on the verge of something large

But yet waking up in beds that feel too small

What would’ve happened if I’d never been pushed?  Would I have just stayed there?

And still be running around chasing my own dreams

I can’t imagine never being pushed and just doing my own thing

‘Cause what good is life without a little pain?

6. Get in Line

If you’re waiting for rain but can’t feel the sun

Or trying to prove yourself better than everyone — get in line, oh get in line

Better get in line, oh get in line

If you chase after bread without lending a hand, or trying building your dreams in castles of sand

Well get in line, oh, get in line

Better get in line, oh get in line

‘Cause we all need a moment of waiting for something

When it seems like it’s further and further away

Well we all know it’s broken and we’re trying to fix it

But we can’t wish our problems away

When you’re lying in bed but you can’t fall asleep

And you feel so alone, troubled, and weak

Well get in line, oh get in line

Better spend the time and wait in line

Oh, get in line, oh get in line

7. Amelia

See a little girl with a golden tan; growing up fast in the heartland

Watching the sun rise and fall, eyes to the sky, watching all

Sometimes you feel so out of place; I’ve seen you back then, it was written on your face

So find your wings and you will soar; that is what you were put here for

You push yourself to see how far you’ll go

To say goodbye to the world below

You reached so high, but you couldn’t pay

And touching down didn’t mean you’d stay

You spent your days trying to fit in; you wore nice clothes and kept your body thin

Even though you must’ve harbored doubt; gave all you had till it burned you out

Am I finding my ground?  Not sure if I should stand or just lie down

Wanting more, needing more

You push yourself to see how far you’ll go

To say goodbye to the world below

You reached so high, but you couldn’t pay

And touching down didn’t mean you’d stay

8. Polarized

Been a long time on this road, but we don’t know where it goes

We don’t know how, we don’t know when our road will come to end

From where I stand the fire’s in your hand

And we don’t understand anymore the reason we’re fighting this war

So you try to make me understand but I’m not sure that I can

So just let your yes be yes, and your no be no

If that’s too hard just let know, if that’s too hard just let me know

Don’t make the world unkind, eye for eye leaves us blind

We have to give more than we take when the world is at stake

‘Cause when the fire burns out, we still don’t know what it’s about

And we won’t understand anymore the reason we started this war

So you try to make me understand but I’m not sure that I can

Just let your yes be yes, and your no be no

If that’s too hard just let know, if that’s too hard just let me know

9. My Own Life

Everybody wants to have the same life, the same dream

To be honest I would rather have the things than dream the dream

Everyone around is hanging underground for fear of being caught

Staring at themselves and missing all the things they haven’t got

And just forget the rest, it comes and goes at best

Sick of being on the fence wondering which path to take

Sick of being off the hook when I’m the one who makes mistakes

Sick of bending all the rules when it comes to my own life

Sick of being wrong for some when it comes to being right

Everybody needs a love but sees it as a problem to be solved

Loving arms can hardly be the remedy for something so involved

So just forget the rest, it comes and goes at best

Sick of being on the fence wondering which path to take

Sick of being off the hook when I’m the one who makes mistakes

Sick of bending all the rules when it comes to my own life

Sick of being wrong for some when it comes to being right

10. Lose Yourself

Gave up my pride and found humility; gave up my wealth and found what I need

Gave up my time and never was late; plenty of clothes and food on my plate

Why must we measure our lives with things that won’t love us back and won’t make us sing?

Sometimes it lasts, sometimes it won’t; sometimes you feel and sometimes you don’t

Sometimes it takes a friend or two, if you’ll be one to me I’ll be one to you

‘Cause sooner or later you’re faced with a choice; you can hideaway or you can use your voice

Maybe someday we’ll stand as one, but until then there’s work to be done

How do you measure a man by his deeds?  By how he walks or who he feeds?

I’m not the best judge for those kinds of things; I hate all the labels and the hurt they bring

So lose yourself a bit each day; that is the way of trust and obey

Sometimes it lasts, sometimes it won’t; sometimes you feel and sometimes you don’t

Sometimes it takes a friend or two, if you’ll be one to me I’ll be one to you

‘Cause sooner or later you’re faced with a choice; you can hideaway or you can use your voice

Maybe someday we’ll stand as one, but until then there’s work to be done

Maybe someday we’ll stand as one, but until then there’s work to be done

11. This Song is Amazing

I read it on your Facebook post, this morning you made french toast

And all your friends agreed: “That looks amazing!”

Walking through the shopping mall, the advertisement’s on the wall: “This shirt’s $5.99″…Wow, that’s amazing!

Hey, look at me, I found the best deal; but I’ll share with you to show you how I feel

‘Cause everything’s amazing, at least it should be

The most important things that happen are the one’s affecting you and me

We’re awesome and unique, and perfect in every way….we’re all amazing!

We post about movie stars, we post when we buy a new car

We post photos of our kids….who are amazing!

Post about the holdup when the traffic’s slow then we post it as a video

And wait for everyone to say, “Wow, that’s amazing!”

Maybe we’ve got too much on our plate when everything’s a new status update?

‘Cause everyone’s amazing, at least they should be

The most important things that happen are the one’s affecting you and me

We’re awesome and unique, and perfect in every way….we’re all amazing!

‘Cause everything’s amazing, at least it should be

The most important things that happen are the one’s affecting you and me

We’re awesome and unique, and perfect in every way….we’re all amazing!

And this song is amazing!  And everything is amazing!  And isn’t that amazing?!

12. Mending Wall

In our lives there’s a wall we always seem to be mending

It holds things in and keeps them out to heed the message we’re sending

We pile up our wall on a sunny day; it’s one we don’t need but build anyway

And one at a time we get our lives to stay

Mending wall

What’s a fence to a friend, does it make us good neighbors?

Or does it serve as a guide to keep us on best behavior?

We don’t even ask what the wall is for; we work at it hard until our hands are sore

We build it up high, and then we build some more

Mending wall

Maybe it’s better this way?  We can keep pretending we need our boundaries to stay

Who’s in need of mending now?  Who’s in need of mending now?  Who’s in need of mending?
